Walking into Fashion Denver is always a delight with an unknown expectation for local designer-wear ready to grace your presence as you walk through the door. With several arrangements of hats, bags, and jewelry and various displays of mannequins wearing the latest in local fashion, this Denver icon still maintains an atmosphere of comforting, yet inspirational. Supporting only local Denver designers, Fashion Denver has become a central hub for well-established artists, as well as for the up and coming creative minds within the fashion industry.
Brandi Shigley, owner of Fashion Denver, comes from a very entrepreneur and creative upbringing. She started her first business at 23 years old designing unique, custom handbags, which were sold internationally under the name “b.shigley designs”. With a business/communication background, and a creative mindset, Shigley has become a woman who knows how to wear many different hats very well. Her success relies on her communications, business, and networking and with her creativity background; all of these elements contributed to the creation of Fashion Denver.
Fashion Denver is more then just a place to display an array of various styles and looks, but has become a location where social networking and business come into play. Along with featuring designer work, Fashion Denver also supplies various workshops to help out local talent including everything from business and public relations workshops, to creative and developmental areas of expertise. They also do a lot of work within their facebook community, reaching out to the public in giving them advice, helpful hints, and a useful “Look of the Day”. Even the store itself allows for a creative showroom, as well as enough space to shop around and really get the feel for each designer featured.
Fashion Denver’s recent Anniversaries Bash, which celebrated its one-year anniversary at their new location, as well as its 7th year as an established business, brought more awareness to not only to its locale, but the Denver fashion scene in general. After a successful show case for new collections of more local designers to join the entourage, the celebration and festivities of a world full of Denver design left Shigley and her staff motivated. “We want to take things to the next level,” Shigley explains, “We have been preparing, doing a lot of brainstorming, and the Anniversaries Bash left us feeling very inspirational and ready to grow as a business.”
With supporting over 20 designers from Denver, Fashion Denver is always looking to support even more local talent. And there isn’t just one particular style Fashion Denver is looking for; Shigley and her team are ready to support all types of designers in all areas of fashion. The motto, “Do what you love, love what you do” is clearly the passion seen and felt from this fabulous fashion boutique.
